logo-cc-6"Intellectuals are judged not by their morals, but by the quality of their ideas" – Perry Anderson

As such, the question becomes whether ‘ideas’ are the only standard to judge an intellectual and whether ‘morals’ play no role in the formation of his personality. Mr Perry’s philosophy may be useful in the World of Ideas, but an author, who is also an intellectual, is always judged by both his morals and his intellect in the World of Life and Literature.

An author has only one job to provide right information garbed with right values to the right masses. He can present, portray or idolize plots and characters of his time with other things, and thus fulfils his aim to express his experiences and emotions for a harmonious world. As a self-respected and self-disciplined artist, his autonomy of the field is so pure that he cannot bow down or eulogize anyone in the direct manner. In doing so, he will be in line for the slaves or eulogists. There was a time when none other than God and deities could be praised and worshipped; but, now a man of power and pelf is also being eulogized and worshipped round the globe. Is this a right practice in the World of Creativity or World of Ideas? Who would speak in affirmation to this question even though each individual has his own perspective on how he wants his life to be?

A right practice would lead to a right path. Now the question arises whether the path is going in the right direction?’ If yes, sail on; if no, look twice before you leap.

All the best!

Happy reading...
